This summer, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino's7,000-seat
venue will become "PH Live." The new title coincides with the
announcement of several popular events set to christen the venue's
iconic location, including Nicki Minaj's "Pink Friday World Tour",
Peter Gabriel's "Back to Front" tour and the eighth-annual LGBT
OUTMUSIC Awards.
The name change represents the exciting
entertainment lineup the resort has in store for the newly-branded
hot-spot, which already has a rich history of hosting some of the
industry's most notable names, including: Justin Timberlake and
Friends, Ke$ha, Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson, INXS, Journey, Prince,
Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. The venue has also been home to both
the Miss America and Miss USA pageants for several years, with
telecasts broadcasting to millions of viewers worldwide.
"The
upcoming programming at PH Live pushes us toward a new era of
entertainment at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino," said Jason
Gastwirth, senior vice president of entertainment for Caesars Entertainment.
"The venue will be hosting several other exciting acts yet to be
announced to reinforce Planet Hollywood's position as one of the
premier performance hubs in Las Vegas."
"BASE Entertainment is
proud to own and operate one of the most iconic and noteworthy venues
in Las Vegas, with hundreds of sold-out shows spanning several
decades," said Scott Zeiger, Co-CEO of BASE Entertainment. "In partnership with the team at Caesars Entertainment, we look forward to bringing new acts and new audiences to PH Live."
Legendary singer Neil Diamond opened the venue formerly known as the Theatre for the Performing Arts in 1976.
