New Zealand singer headlines every Saturday in May at Oscar's @PlazaLasVegas

New Zealand singer Sarah Frances Johnston is currently performing for a limited engagement at Oscar’s steakhouse inside the iconic dome of the Plaza Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Johnston debuted at Oscar’s on April 14, the first as a resident performer in the restaurant, and performs the classic and contemporary standards in a jazzy chanteuse style.

During Johnston’s recent performance, former Las Vegas Mayor and restaurant namesake, Oscar Goodman himself took the microphone and stated, “We're so lucky to have this angel sing for us. She is going to be great and this is just the start of an amazing career.”

Goodman then joked, “Anybody who doesn't love the way this girl sings, I'm gonna have 'em whacked.”

Johnston began her entertainment career as a child actor on the long running New Zealand soap opera “Shortland Street.”  She also starred in the series “Tomorrow’s Another Day” which premiered across Europe.

Johnston began her singing career in the bayside city of Tauranga on the North Island of New Zealand, and moved to the U.S. in 2010.  Since arriving, she has performed at highly regarded, Five Diamond venues in Nevada and California, including the Lodge at Pebble Beach, the Eiffel Tower Restaurant in Las Vegas, and the Ritz Carlton and Loews Hotels.

Johnston is scheduled to  perform every Saturday night in the month of May at Oscar’s from 8 to 11 p.m.
