KÀ by Cirque du Soleil Presents Gravity-Defying Stunt on Side of PetcoPark as part of COMIC-CON 2011

KA by Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas made its first appearance at Comic-Con on opening night, Thursday, July 21st, with a dramatic showdown on the outside walls of PETCO Park in San Diego. The outdoor performance, created especially for Comic-Con, took place directly across the street from the San Diego Convention Center and included a display of 3-D projections.

Spectators had a bird's-eye view and stared up at the wall as the scene played out on the surface of a 90-foot high vertical stage.

"I have wanted to see this performance happen on a big outside wall since coming to KA more than four years ago," said Marie-Helene Gagnon, Artistic Director of KA. "To have the opportunity to present it at Comic-Con with 3-D and live artists is both a challenge and a dream come true."

AD X MEDIA, one of the world's leading providers of large-scale indoor and outdoor mixed media projections, provided the technology for the 3-D projection elements of the performance. "We have been trying to find ways to incorporate live performance with projections for years," said Gary Evans, President of AD X MEDIA. "When Cirque du Soleil came to us with their concept we realized that this was the perfect opportunity to marry creativity, human performance and technology."
