Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN) hosted the 28th annual Black & White Party at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas on August 23rd. Some 3,000 guests filled the venue and raising nearly $130,000 to benefit AFAN's client service programs.
Host Bryan Chan of Chippendales introduced performances from Jabbawockeez, Melody Sweets, Sky Dee Miles, Jubilee, Chase Brown, Lorena Peril, new show LIMELIGHT and more. Shangela (D.J. Pierce), star of RuPaul's "Drag Race" was also featured during the evening event.
With 2014 being AFAN's 30th anniversary, the organization honored some of their original founders with the "Right to Wear Red," including Wes Davis, Mel Pohl and Senator David Parks. AFAN's board members and executive director Antioco Carillo welcomed the nominees and recognized their lasting contributions to the community.
