The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino announce the extensions of magic duo Penn & Teller through 2018. The duo is celebrating 20 magical years of performing in Las
Vegas, and are the longest-running
headliners at the same property in Las Vegas history.
“When
we first moved to Vegas, our hoity-toity New York art and theater
friends all screamed in horror. Now they are all regular Vegas visitors
and headliners. We've loved every minute of our 20 years in Vegas
and are wicked excited we get to spend another six at the Rio in the
best theater in town," stated Penn Jillette, the larger and louder
half of Penn & Teller. "I hate to hurt our next negotiations with Caesars
Entertainment, but we have no plans to leave. We intend to die in
office.”
“It
is always exciting when we are able to do something to make Las Vegas
history, and the announcement of Penn & Teller’s contract extension
is no different,” said Gary Selesner, president of Rio All-Suite Hotel
& Casino and Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas Region. “Rio All-Suite
Hotel & Casino is very honored to be the property that Penn &
Teller call home, and we look forward to many more successful years with
these talented entertainers.”
Penn
& Teller landed in Las Vegas in 1993 and began a headlining
engagement at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in January 2001. In
addition to entertaining audiences for the past 20 years, Penn & Teller have been huge supporters of
local Vegas charities such as Aid for AIDS of Nevada, United Blood
Services and Opportunity Village.
