Electronic Dance Music More Integral in Las Vegas Entertainment Space

Electric Daisy Carnival - Las Vegas
Home to the legendary Electric Daisy Carnival, world-renowned nightclubs, global-DJ residencies, mixed with a 24-hour "anything goes" attitude, Las Vegas has emerged as the EDM capital of the nation. Entertainment in Las Vegas now crosses over from the traditional "stage show" or "club act" to interactive nightclub experiences with variety acts and A-list DJ's. With clubs that cater to guests of all ages, and hosts to the best DJ acts in the world, America's playground has become a raver's paradise. Crazy pool parties, giant dance floors, and flashing lights make Sin City a destination spot for ravers. With so many resorts, hotels, clubs and bars to choose from, it's hard for visitors to know which locations are best for an epic EDM experience. Here's a few hot spots to get you started.

The Western Ibiza

Vegas nightlife has a lot to offer club kids and is a great chance to improve your typical vacation with Vegas-style class. Arguably the Western world's Ibiza, Las Vegas greets fanatical ravers with open arms. Although all Vegas clubs do not regularly feature EDM mega stars as the locations listed below, occasionally they change their schedule on high-profile weekends and host great EDM shows. HAZE at the ARIA and PURE in Ceasar's Palace occasionally have house and electronic DJ guest artists, while Lavo and TAO at The Palazzo and Venetian respectively are known for gathering a pretty wild party crowd.

North-Central Strip

An extension of the Wynn, the Encore is a luxury resort. With dining experiences that range from fine dining Asian, to Vegan, and steakhouses, along with multiple bars and lounges, Encore is a food lover's paradise. But the five-star salons, spas, golf course and casino are not what make this a perfect location for EDM fans -- it's the on-point nightlife. The Encore is home to some of the Strip's premiere clubs, XS, Surrender and Encore Beach Club. XS features global acts like Tiesto and Swanky Tunes multiple times weekly in a chic atmosphere equipped with three separate bars.

Residents Steve Angello and Afrojack are some of the big names that play Surrender, a club whose look was inspired by the curves of the human body and has been voted as a global hot spot. If you're in the mood to strut around in rave costumes that would make your mother want to lock you away in your old bedroom, this is the place to be. During the spring and summer seasons, Encore Beach Club is one of Vegas' best EDM pool parties, with bottle service at VIP cabanas with DJ's like Chris Lake and Diplo spinning for a crowd of beautiful people.

Central Strip

The newest addition to the Las Vegas Strip, the Cosmopolitan, is a modern luxury experience that caters to the lifestyle of party people. With city rooms, studios, suites, bungalows and penthouses, over a dozen restaurants from sushi to modern steak houses, casual and fine dining and cafes. The resort and casino's decor was inspired by creative art that people can see and touch, but that's not why house heads will love it.

With its Grand Opening on New Year's in 2010, the Marquee nightclub has become one of the best EDM spots on the Strip. With resident DJ Kaskade at the turntables, the 62,000 square foot venue with 50 foot ceilings and four-story LED screens is a sensory experience. During the hotter months of the year the Marquee Dayclub offers cabanas and poolside bars and global acts like Zedd, DJ Chuckie and Benny Benassi.

Entertainment Changes

It's no wonder why entertainment in Las Vegas now includes a key component - nightclubs. The traditional "showroom" entertainment with headliners including magicians, singers, comedians, cirque shows, and lavish production shows, has become almost secondary to the big picture of entertainment in town. Financially, many nightclubs outsell profit for the financial teams at the casino resors, and although traditional entertainment is used heavily in marketing audiences and bringing guests to the resorts, the nightclub entertainment often times drives revenue late into the evening.
