Local Independent Filmmaker Premieres Feature Film Liars Fires and Bears at Brenden Theatres
Las Vegas Filmmaker and UNLV graduate Jeremy Cloe’s directorial feature film debut, “Liars, Fires and Bears” premiered at Brenden Theatres inside of the Palms Hotel.
Cloe branched out into filmmaking at age 18 after releasing his first skate video world-wide. Since then he has made several music videos, award-winning short films, and deemed "unfathomably talented" by CityLife for his accomplishments in filmmaking.
Production of “Liars, Fires and Bears” was financed through successful fundraisers. Their Kickstarter campaign raised $12,460 last November; and $2,000 at a Beauty Bar fundraiser show featuring local bands. Most recently, the Inaugural Johnny Brenden UNLV Filmmaker's Award was given to the film's producer Constanza Castro.
The film was made possible from support within the Las Vegas community, with the crew comprised of UNLV students and graduates.
ABOUT THE FILM::
Eve, a 9-year-old hardened by her time as a neglected foster child, is accustomed to taking life seriously. So when she meets Dave, a drunk, immature, thirty-something, she sees an opportunity. “Liars, Fires, and Bears” finds these two on an unlikely cross-country road trip after young Eve hatches a plan to reunite with her absent brother, and laid-back Dave suddenly finds himself on the run from both cops and robbers. With a precocious girl behind the wheel and a man-child navigating, they may find the quickest route to their destination is through each other.
