Modernized show at Sams Town Resort features all-new laser and theatrical lighting.

Sam's Town "Mystic Falls Park"
Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall has completed a sweeping modernization of its renowned Mystic Falls Park Sunset Stampede Laser Light and Water Show. While minor improvements have been implemented over the years, the recent upgrade is the first major renovation to the show since its debut in 1994.

Improvements to the 15-minute free show include new, state-of-the-art solid-state laser technology offering more powerful and clearer projections, while using significantly less wattage; a new laser atop the Mystic Falls mountain to project mid-air beam effects throughout the atrium; new theatrical lighting, allowing for more sophisticated effects, including LED submersible fountain lights with a larger range of colors; enhanced animatronics; refreshed graphical projections; and minor tuning and refinement of audio equipment.

“Over the last 17 years, the free laser light and water show at Mystic Falls Park has become a major attraction in the city,” said John Sou, Vice President and General Manager of Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall. “With so many available technological advancements in lighting and effects, we brought in top-tier laser and theatrical lighting experts to transform the experience.”

Las Vegas-based DTB Technical Services developed the new theatrical lighting. DTB provides lighting services to several Cirque du Soleil shows on the Strip, including “Love” and “O.”

Through music, lighting, animation and water features, Sunset Stampede chronicles the Western pioneer experience. Fountains shoot eight stories into the air and the waters dance in the lights to a symphonic score.
