Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, the annual Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend will take place Thursday, June 3 through Sunday, June 6 at The Plaza Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas.
Recognized as the world’s top showcase for international burlesque entertainers and enthusiasts, the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend attracts outstanding artists, both exotic and mainstream. Top talent are scheduled to appear including Miss Exotic World 2009 and Las Vegas native Kalani Kokonuts. Additional talent include Angie Pontani, Immodesty Blaize, Julie Atlas Muz, Michelle L’amour (America’s Got Talent), Dirty Martini, Kitten DeVille and more than 100 of the world’s top neo-burlesque acts.
“Burlesque has truly become a worldwide phenomenon, and the performers that make it to our show are the sexiest, most talented entertainers on the planet,” said Burlesque Hall of Fame representative, Luke Littell. “It’s the only event of its kind, featuring both today’s brightest new stars and the living legends of yester-year.”
Among the many activities slated over the Weekend are Friday’s “Titans of Tease” Burlesque Reunion Showcase and Saturday night’s main event, the 20th Annual Burlesque Competition. Called the “Striptease Olympics” by the London Daily Mirror, it is the most prestigious competitive burlesque event in the world; drawing bump ‘n’ grind’s best of the best, year after year, from Tokyo to Toronto.
Also scheduled is the long-awaited grand re-opening of the Burlesque Hall of Fame Museum at Emergency Arts, 520 Fremont St., #120, featuring a special ribbon-cutting ceremony with Dixie Evans and Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman on Friday, June 4 at 5 p.m.
