The Pahrump Arts Council (PAC) Visual and Performing Arts facility is currently in the running for a $250,000 Grant from the Pepsi Corporations "PepsiRefreshProject."
PAC has been saving for several years to build but has been unable to go beyond the land and design stage [an architectural design has been approved and is ready.] This combined theatre and gallery facility will provide seating for 500 people for theatre, music and dance productions. It will also provide a gallery space for several artists at one time including sculptural works.
This facility will also provide educational value, not now available in local schools, with artists in residence. It will provide a training ground for directors, choreographers, musicians, set designers, stage managers and all skills necessary to present quality productions for the public.
The community now lacks such a facility and currently uses casino rooms, churches, community buildings when available.
